The 80-unit, retracting-needle generation of peptide pen — explained.

What the V5 Changes

The V5 is not a redesign — it is the V3 formula with the two most-requested upgrades engineered in. Everything else, deliberately, stays the same.

Upgrade 01

1–80 unit dial

A third more range per dispense than the V3's 60-unit ceiling. Work that needed two actions at 60 units completes in one — same 1-unit clicks, same 0.01ml per unit, same clear dose window.

Upgrade 02

Retracting needle

The needle sits out of sight except at the moment of dispensing. Less visual intrusion during handling, and the mechanism guards the needle between uses.

What Carries Over From the V3

That compatibility is the point: moving to a V5 upgrades the pen, not the shelf. Nothing you've stocked becomes obsolete.

Where the V3 sits in the wider lineage — V1 and V2 included — is covered in the pen versions guide, and the step-by-step guide covers filling and dialling for both generations.

Should You Upgrade?

Yes, if your work regularly dispenses above 60 units — the single-action 80-unit dial is the whole reason the V5 exists — or if you want the needle hidden during handling.

Not necessarily, if your work sits comfortably inside 60 units. The V3 remains the proven standard at a lower price, and because the consumables are identical you lose nothing by running both: many researchers keep a V5 for larger work and a V3 as the workhorse.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a V5 pen?

The newest generation of reusable cartridge-fed peptide pen: the V3's fundamentals — aluminium body, 3ml glass cartridge, standard needle thread — plus a 1–80 unit dial and a retracting needle mechanism.

What's different from a V3?

Two things: the dial reaches 80 units instead of 60, and the needle retracts out of sight when not dispensing. Everything consumable is identical.

Do V3 cartridges fit a V5 pen?

Yes — both use the standard 3ml glass cartridge, and the same pen needles fit both.

Is the V5 worth it over the V3?

For dispenses above 60 units, or if you want the needle hidden: yes. For work inside 60 units, the V3 remains excellent at a lower price — and the two share every consumable.

Are V5 pens available in the UK?

Yes — UK-held stock in black, teal, gold and red, same-working-day dispatch, with cartridges, needles and cases from the same shelf.
